PLAINS has recently linked up with South Florida label Limited Fanfare Records. Today Limited Fanfare released their spring/summer 2013 sampler, featuring some great South Florida music, including a brand new track from Plains, “Hurricane City”! Check that out and don’t miss the rest of their great line-up on this sampler.
ANR (Awesome New Republic) put out TOBE HOOPER over the weekend, and it’s been getting lots of love from around the world. Thanks to everyone who has been listening! As a total surprise, the actual Texas Chainsaw Massacre family did a live performance of “TOBE HOOPER” and some other ANR tracks. We compiled footage of them at our studio and the live show, and now present the video for ANR’s cover of the Ramones “Chainsaw”:
Last week, Big East dropped “Knock Em Out” and karate chopped the internet. Today, the band blurs the line between indie-electronic album and hip-hop mixtape with FONE STORE VOL. 1 a 10 track mixtape (or is it an album?) of original songs equipped with ukeleles and acoustic guitars over big 808 beats and blazing synths.
Download the full mixtape FREE now, and tell your friends!
That’s right, after hearing us talk about Big East for months, you can finally get in on it. “Knock Em Out”, “Heatwave” and “Richard Dreyfuss” are all off the upcoming mixtape FONE STORE VOL. 1, coming out later this month. Get into these three now, and look out for videos soon!
Show some old fashioned social media lovin’ by following and liking the band!

ANR has some holiday jams to spread around. First up is their very unique take on “Millionaire” – originally recorded by Kelis and featuring an amazing verse by Andre 3000. You can grab a free download of ANR’s version as well as check them out doing it live for the Neon Gold TV series above. Secondly, the band has tackled the holiday classic “Little Drummer Boy” in a manner that now makes it acceptable in DJ sets between M83 and Washed Out. Finally, speaking of DJ sets, MJ from ANR will be DJing New Years Eve with Animal Collective (Avey Tare, Geologist), JD samson and Lightwaves in Washington DC. 2012 is shaping up to be a big one.
There has never been a more fitting holiday for any band than Halloween for ANR. It just works perfectly. So much so, that they’ve recorded a Halloween jam in between cities on their current tour. Thrown together in various hotels, venue greenrooms and 8 hour drives you get “Bad Shit.” A guitar/piano ballad that opens with “Bury the body in the wall / of a room way down the hall / of a building in the woods” and grows into a characteristically ANR psychedelic synth whirlwind. Also, characteristically ANR – it is available for FREE. Spread it around and Happy Halloween!
Rollingstone.com was nice enough to premiere the video for “It’s Around You” yesterday. The video is a Borscht Corp. production, directed by Jillian Mayer and Lucas Leyva. It’s got some great interpretive dancing and performance art. Be sure to grab one of the remaining few seven inches for “It’s Around You” over at the Neon Gold Records shop. Or grab one from the band at one of their few remaining shows this month.
