PLAINS – Album Review

The fine folks over at Beached Miami have given us the first official review of the PLAINS full-length album – and it’s a good one. The review highlights tracks such as “Innovator”, “Black Feeling” and “Judy” – calling the album,
“A rare combination of technical savvy, good taste, and talent — the humble trinity that early indie rock, post-punk, and grunge-era bands all thrived on.”
They go on to say,
“PLAINS is the rare record sans a skippable song, a collection of intelligent rock… a collection of songs that sound checks many while mimicking none. If PLAINS were released at any point in McGinnis’s career, it would be a major achievement. As a debut, it is astonishing.”
Our sentiments exactly. The album is out July 19th and PLAINS will be playing a few dates supporting the release.
